Our mission is to harness the diverse passions and expertise of the Stanford Undergraduate student body to help California legislators and policy organizations research and develop solutions to challenging policy dilemmas.
In 2020, we sought out a way to empower our classmates to leverage policy as a tool for change. Fueled by a commitment to justice, the Cardinal Policy Group was born—a cohort of students focused on helping policymakers conduct research on social issues and develop evidence-based solutions.
Legislator and policy organizations tackle dozens of social issues every year. Using literature reviews, data analysis, policy comparisons, and other research methods, our teams will provide clients with reports encapsulating in-depth research on specific policy questions and make evidence-based recommendations for future action.
The students we worked with were uncommonly bright, curious, dedicated, organized, kind, and mature beyond their years. Their research and writing project contributed significantly to our organization's understanding and work on a complex policy issue. We deeply appreciated their excellent work and would encourage other public interest and policy organizations to partner with them
